Project Hypaethrus: Windows To Time

Project Hypaethrus is a tabletop roleplaying game built around the idea of time travel. 

By traveling to the distant past, your characters can seek to learn more about their past to better understand the present and, hopefully, improve the future. While this game contains some concepts drawn from the Assassin's Creed game series, it is mainly inspired by Presto Studios’sThe Journeyman Project game series released in the 1990’s. 

Using a dice mechanic based on the BAD TIMES system and my own Blossom system of character creation, you create unique Travelers to explore the past. Time-Travelers need to hide your existence to the temporal locals, so you take on new Personas while in the past. However, relying too much on your Past Persona can Bleed into your own identity, changing yourself and those you care the most about around you in your Present!

The Future of Project Hypaethrus

The base of this game is fully feature complete, if needing some balance testing.  I intend on releasing a quick-start guide in the near future for those of you who would like to dive in and learn the game that way. It will be available for everyone who has purchased this game.

However, I also intend on releasing a new layout and a full setting guide in the same world as the quick-start if there is interest for it. To gauge that interest, I am going to try itch-funding this game with a base value of $100 as our starting point for the revised layout and setting guide. If we manage to go above that value, I will consider other stretch goals like commissioning custom art, creating a physical version of the game, or creating further settings for exploration.
